The Football Autobiography Show is dedicated to taking you on a football journey with football’s most interesting players, coaches, trainers, staff and journalists. Think of these as mini-football autobiographies.

Each guest will show you how they got to where they are now, reveal their techniques for success and what they’ve learned along the way.

Today we go inside football data analytics, one of the newest driving forces behind why football is changing so quickly. If you want a progressive and intellectual look at the game then this episode is for you.

Our guest is Head of Football Intelligence at 21st Club, Omar Chaudhuri. Chaudhuri is responsible for consulting clubs in the Premier league to help them gain a competitive advantage and build sustainable success.

He helps them with everything from choosing the right manager to identifying undervalued transfer targets. Previously he worked at Prozone where he carried out statistical analysis. He regularly writes on 21st Club's blog and was the founder of a previous blog called 5addedminutes.

In this episode he discusses growing up in Singapore, how he would calculate wins above replacement in football, the biggest mistakes clubs make when hiring managers and how he transitioned from amateur blogger to professional analyst. Without further ado, sit back and enjoy the episode.
