Dave Thomas with Burnley manager Sean Dyche

Dave Thomas is the author of 17 books on his beloved Burnley FC , including an autobiography with Paul Fletcher a previous guest on this podcast. He has also written for The Times Educational Supplement, Up the Clarets, Something to Write Home About magazine and had several short stories published about his (sometimes) hilarious time as a head teacher in a small village school near Leeds.

Thomas is a master storyteller and he is part-historian, part-die-hard fan, part author. He regals the audience with tales of watching Burnley in the 50's, meeting Burnley fans in Tasmania and the bond that is formed from mutual love for the same club, Burnley away trips, the future of fanzine culture in the UK and how he went from school headmaster to one of the biggest Burnley football writers there ever has been or will be.

As such, he is always coming out with new books. His most recent book is Mud, Sweat and Shears, which is the story of longtime Burnley FC groundskeeper Roy Oldfield. You can find all his books on his website here, or on Amazon here.
