Our guest is current Portsmouth ambassador, Alan Knight. Previously Knight was a goalkeeper for Portsmouth from 1977-2000 where he made 801 appearances for the club, 2nd all-time behind Jimmy Dickinson. He also made 2 appearances for the England U-21 side. He is largely a one club man as he only represented one other club in Havant & Waterlooville after he left Portsmouth and that was for 3 matches. He has also been a goalkeeping coach for numerous clubs including FC Dallas and Bournemouth.
In this episode Knight discusses: the pros and cons of being a one club man, making his debut as a 16 year old, what its like to be a goalie after a huge gaffe, playing an entire half with a concussion, and the effects 2-3 annual concussions on his career.
